Inspiring Story Coming Out of Devastating Loss
February 16, 2017 | Posted by: Holly Cochrane
This story is truly inspiring.
We all know how devastating the fires of Fort McMurray were for the residents of the city. The events of last May have come to be known as 'one of the largest exacuations in Canadian History' (Thurton, p. 1). There were approximately '88,000 people' (Thurton, p. 2) who were forced to abandon their belongings and their homes to escape a raging wildfire. It was truly disheartening to see fellow members of our province experiencing so much hurt.
Now, almost a year after the blaze, residents of Fort McMurray are still dealing with the struggles of their loss. Through all of the devastation, one man has taken to rebuilding his own home as a means of therapy. This story is truly uplifting to read.
Today we chose this as our blog post to show the resilience of the human spirit. We want to show that, through loss, there is always a way to pick yourself back up and start over. This story proves that 'Alberta Strong' is not just a statement, but a respresentation of character.
From all of us at The Holly Cochrane Mortgage Team, be 'Alberta Strong.'
