Canada Day 2018

Canada Day is fast approaching! We did some research and have created this celebrations guide for you.

Spruce Grove

Jubilee Park, 510 Grove Drive, Spruce Grove

9 am – 11 pm

You can start your day with a pancake breakfast, open at 9 am (closes at 11 am). After you’ve had a delicious breakfast you can head to the Community Stage to enjoy the outdoors and live entertainment. The stage will be open from 9am to 6pm.

There will be lots of activities to pick from including face painting, a painting workshop and also wool workshops. There will be exhibitors and vendors on site as well throughout the day.


Alberta Legislature, 107 Street and 97 Avenue, Edmonton

7 am – 6 pm

There are lots of free fun family activities going on at the grounds and inside the legislature building.

Pancake Breakfast from 7am - 9am.

There is an area called the Alberta Family Fun Zone and it is open from 12:30-5pm.

Walk around the grounds and stop by the Indigenous Showcase open from 1pm-6pm.

Fireworks are in the River Valley and start at 11pm. So go early to find a spot to watch them from!

Good Viewing Locations

▪   Alberta Legislative Grounds (Capital Plaza - north plaza)

▪   Government House Park (Groat Road and River Valley Road)

▪   Ezio Faraone Park

Viewing areas accessible on foot only (closed to vehicles):

  • Victoria Park / River Valley Road
  • Walterdale Hill Road and Queen Elizabeth Park Road
  • 109 Street (between Saskatchewan Drive and the High Level Bridge)

Muttart Conservatory, 9626 – 96A Street, Edmonton AB

Visit between 11 am and 3 pm for a day of crafts, live music, face painting, games and activities. Visit each of the pyramids where you’ll be able to see all kinds of plants and flowers. All activities are included with regular admission prices.

Millwoods Park, 23 Avenue & 66 Street, Edmonton

1 pm – 11 pm

Enjoy an afternoon of family friendly activities that begin at 1pm. These activities include hayrides, a petting zoo, various carnival games, coloring stations and face painting.

At 6pm the main stage opens and you’ll have the opportunity to hear live music and watch multicultural dance groups. End the night with the fireworks show at 11pm.
